Devices: The software will support variety of end-user devices, such as smartphones and in-dash devices, either built in by OEMs or added as an aftermarket device. These mobile devices may have GPS modules or be connected to the vehicle’s internal data system GPS and internal information buses – alarm sensors and other physical interfaces (gas and mileage gauges etc), telematics and infotainment subsystem.
First platforms will run on WinCE and Embedded Linux operating system will be supported, then support of other operating systems will be gradually introduced.
Connections: The driver’s mobile device will be connected wirelessly (Bluetooth) or wired through cradle wires to the vehicle’s radio system. It will provide high-quality audio sound.
User commands: User commands will be said into the microphone and recognized by a special vocal user interface built on elements of speech recognition. (Retrieved information will be converted to audio using text-to-speech conversion technology.) Using verbal commands, the driver will start the Inphodrive system, call up menus, and access remote data. The bidirectional browsing system responds audibly to the driver’s requests.
